It is possible -- go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/microsoft-365/p/word/CFQ7TTC0HLKM?activetab=pivot:overviewtab and click the Buy Now button, or look for Microsoft Word 2021 on sites such as amazon.com. However, you'll pay more for Word alone than for the entire Microsoft Office suite of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/p/office-home-student-2021/cfq7ttc0h8n8?activetab=pivot:overviewtab) . Neither of these options includes OneDrive.
Is it possible to just purchase Word without the whole Office?
I only want to purchase Word and not the whole office package. Is it possible to purchase it for my new Windows 11 laptop? I had Word 2013 with product key code but it will not accept it. Also I don't want to save my documents to OneDrive. Will it be possible to purchase Word separately and save to my laptop? Help - this shouldn't be this difficult.

2023-09-23T13:58:33+00:00 Thanks Jay. Until your reply I just kept finding the option of paying monthly or paying over and over again and limitation of saving to OneDrive. You are right, better just to pay the $149.99 and get more since it is a one time payment. Not sure if I would use the other products but it doesn't much matter if it means saving $10 really. Thanks for helping me out.

Just pull Wordpad out of Windows by typing Wordpad in Windows search bar located beside the Windows logo, and then hit Enter. Wordpad is buried in all versions of Windows, I believe. When it shows at the top of the search results, put it on your taskbar. It has way more manipulation operations than Notepad, and is a reasonable alternative to not having Microsoft Word. Otherwise get Open Office, but you can't easily put Open Office on two of your computers, only one.
