SharePoint Online List - what's the limit of number and size of attachments

I've searched and can't find a definitive answer on this:

In a list in SharePoint online, is there a limit to the number or the size of files that can be added in an attachment field. I see some mention of 250mb, but I've seen people say that's for on-premise, and for SharePoint online it's only 100mb. What's the limit, and is there a limit for individual file size, combined file size, or number of files. Also, is the limit different if the user is using the out-of-the-box form versus if we customize the form in Power Apps?

Thanks for your time thinking about this!

    Dear respected Tandy Wine,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

As per your description, in SharePoint online List, the maximum individual file size that can be attached to a list item in SharePoint Online is 250 MB.

    For your reference: SharePoint limits

There was a limit on the combined file size for all attachments in a single list item, which was usually around 250 MB as well. This means that if you attach multiple files to a single list item, their total size should not exceed this limit.

The total combined size of all attachments in a single list item cannot exceed 250 MB. This means that if you attach multiple files to a single list item, their combined size must not exceed 250 MB.

For number of Attachments in a SharePoint online List, there is no maximum limit specified for the number of attachments that you can add to a SharePoint list item (no strict limit on the number of attachments). However, adding a large number of attachments can affect the overall performance and usability of the list,

If you customize the List form in Power Apps, the attachment limits are generally the same as the out-of-the-box SharePoint forms. Power Apps forms use the underlying SharePoint list structure and data, so the attachment capabilities should align with the SharePoint.

Appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    Waqas Muhammad
