Enabling Sort on a Protected SHeet

Hi,

I have followed all the posted advice on how to enable Sort on a protected sheet in Excel 365 but it is still not working.

I have:

  1. Selected the sort and filter option when locking the sheet
  2. Enable the "allow edit ranges" option
  3. Checked for merged cells
  4. Checked the cell formatting
  5. Un-hided all cells
  6. Copy and pasted data to a new sheet

Do you have any other suggestions please?

    If you already tried the allow edit ranges option and it is not working. (This one is the best way to allow user sort)

    You may use this one as workaround. Unlocked the sort range and only allow user to sort and filter. Then user cannot select the cells in that range.

    1.You should uncheck the locked option.

    1. Then check only sort and use autofilter.
