    Dear respected Shane Savannah,

Good morning! Thank you for posting to the Microsoft Community.

For reference: Enable or disable macros in Microsoft 365 files - Microsoft Support

To unblock macros in Excel, you can follow these steps:

    1. Open Excel and click on the "File" tab.
    2. Click on "Options" in the left-hand menu.
    3. Click on "Trust Center" in the left-hand menu.
    4. Click on "Trust Center Settings" in the main window.
    5. Click on "Macro Settings" in the left-hand menu.
    6. Select the option "Enable all macros" or "Enable macros for this session only" depending on your preference.
    7. Click "OK" to save the changes.

Please note that enabling macros can pose a security risk, so it's important to only enable them from trusted sources.

If you meet any further difficulties, feel free to come back with me providing more updated details so I can understand your scenario better. Appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation.

    Sincerely

    Mia | Microsoft Moderator

I have several Excel files with macros and, until today, these have been working perfectly. Today, however, some (not all!) are now showing a message "Security Risk Microsoft has blocked macros from running because the source of this file is untrusted". The files are all on local hard drives - how on earth can they be untrusted?

This is a major issue for me as I rely on the macros to perform various financial calculations that I need to run my business.

Please help. The 'solutions' given in the various forums "e.g. Trust Centre", "Open file properties, tick a box" - none of these have done anything.

STOP BLOCKING MY MACROS!!! WHAT ARE YOU ALL DOING???

They're not from the internet; I wrote them many years ago.

There used to be an Enable button after the Blocked warning, none now.

There isn't any Unblock option under Properties and the Trust Center didn't do anything.

Your unblock suggestions are not working!

BTW, I am running Excel in Compatibility Mode from 97 to retain backward compatibility on older files.
