How to sign out of OneDrive on Windows 11 completely? Anyone still can sign in without the password on this computer

The computer is Windows 11.

Even if I logged out everywhere and removed all the credentials, I still can log on OneDrive with a certain MS account without password.

  1. Settings -> Accounts, no account is logged on.
  2. Settings -> Accounts -> Access work or school, nothing has been logged on here or connected.
  3. Settings -> Accounts -> Email & accounts, no account is logged on.
  4. Control Panel\User Accounts\Credential Manager -> Web Credentials, there is nothing.
  5. Control Panel\User Accounts\Credential Manager -> Windows Credentials, there are only "virtualapp/didlogical" and "SSO_POP_Device" and no MS account is listed.
  6. On Edge, nothing is logged on, and I can't log on with the MS account without the password. Mail, Microsoft Store, Microsoft To Do, etc. are the same.
  7. On OneDrive, nothing is logged on.
  8. However, I open OneDrive and shows the "Set up OneDrive" window. At the bottom, in the "Email address" box, I type a random letters like "a". Click "Sign in". Then in the same window, it says "There was a problem connecting to OneDrive. Here I click "Personal". Then the same window shows "Microsoft respects your privacy". Click "Next". "Getting better together", click "Accept". And click "Next". Now my MS account is logged on on OneDrive.

So even if a random person even doesn't know the email address of the MS account, he can log on OneDrive with the MS account.

How to sign out completely and prevent others from signing in with my MS account without the password on the computer?

    Hello Dongryeong Kim

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

It seems like you have an issue signing out to OneDrive in your Windows 11 computer. Let’s work together in finding the best resolution to this issue.

For me to better understand the issue, I’d like to ask a few questions:

    • What is the version of your OneDrive app?

To sign out of OneDrive on Windows 11 completely, please follow these steps:

    • Right-click on the OneDrive icon in the system tray and select "Settings".
    • In the "Account" tab, click on "Unlink this PC".
    • Confirm that you want to unlink the PC from OneDrive.
    • Next, open File Explorer and navigate to the OneDrive folder.
    • Right-click on the OneDrive folder and select "Settings".
    • In the "Account" tab, click on "Unlink OneDrive".
    • Confirm that you want to unlink the OneDrive account from the PC.

After completing these steps, you should be signed out of OneDrive on your Windows 11 PC. If you want to prevent others from signing in with your Microsoft account without a password, you should ensure that your account is secured with a strong password and two-factor authentication.

Additionally, you should avoid sharing your account information with others and regularly monitor your account activity for any unauthorized access.

We look forward to your next response.

    Regards,

Here's a question: How is this possible when the desktop app for OneDrive is no longer supported? I don't see an option for unlinking a PC from the browser version.
