Do you have the file containing the macros located in a "Trusted Location"? See File>Options>Trust Center>Trust Center Settings>Trusted Locations.

When I open any Word document I previously created, the file opens but a red banner above reads: “SECURITY RISK Microsoft has blocked macros from running because the source of this file is untrusted.” All these documents were created by me on this PC using a template I’ve maintained and used for many years. I do use the template macros I’ve created constantly. When I go to Developer > Macro Settings, “Enable all macros” is already selected.

Hello Segunfunmi,
Thanks for responding to my blocked macros issue. Your solution looks plausible as I have gone down the same road that you suggest in my trying to resolve this myself. As it happened, right after posting this, I did a restart and Word was able to function as usual from then on. I should remember that a restart is a no-brainer possible fix in situations like this.
With my grateful regards,
Tony Amico
Ok I have sent you the file from email
