Limitations with Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365

My company recently provided me with access to Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365. I was asked to compare it's capabilities speciatlly regarding the promissed use of GPT-4 models in Copilot Chat (Ex- Bing Chat). My experience has been mostly negative, and I'm wondering if we've misunderstood the product's features or if there's an issue with our setup.

Here's what we're observing:

In the 'Work' mode (selected via a slider on the top left), I have access to Copilot for Microsoft 365. The responses here feel noticeably simplified and shorter compared to the same prompts with Chat-GPT Plus (GPT-4) or the standard Bing Chat set to Precise. Several promissed functionalities are missing:

  • Inability to upload documents, with access restricted to our company's SharePoint.
  • Absence of options to switch between the Creative, Balanced, and Precise models.
  • No image generation with DALL-E, even inside Word, as shown in Microsoft's Video Preview.

In the 'Web' mode, it appears to be the regular old Bing Chat, including the three modes mentioned above. However, there's no option to toggle between GPT-4 and GPT-4 Turbo models as shared in online demostrations / screenshots.

My question to the community is: Did we misunderstand Microsoft's promises when they introduced Copilot Pro, is Copilot for Microsoft 365 not including these features, or is there a possibility that we've received a product that's not functioning as intended?
