MS Access cuts off record navigation controls and/or dialog boxes

Since all similar posts seem locked for replies, I thought I'd post what finally worked for me.

You can check your display DPI and Scaling settings however, I found another setting that finally fixed the issue.

In Windows settings, search for "Make text bigger" (or Win key + Make text bigger). Move the "Make text bigger" slider all the way to the left (100%). Windows will take a moment or two to reset your display(s). If Access was open; close it and restart Access (a reboot is not necessary). This "Make text bigger" setting is different than DPI or Scaling.

Windows updates and/or display driver updates may move the slider back to the right; so, you may have to do this again.

Hope this helps someone.

Thanks for posting a solution, unfortunately it did not fix it for me .

Update after a few hours of searching i found a suggested solution which said to change the size of the scroll bar setting in the registry. It was suggested that ScrollHeight in the Registry should be set to -360. This did not fix it for me, in the post it said while you are there you might as well set ScrollWidth to -360 as well. When I changed the ScrollWidth setting to -360 it fixed the issue. I suspect the nav bar settings in access are being constrained by the windows scroll bar settings.

The original post is out there but i can't locate it at the moment, if anyone finds it please provide a link so the author of this fix can be recognised.

The Registry location is Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics.

I take no responsibility if you screw your registry.

Indeed, that's why making the scroll bar wider, or higher in the case of the horizontal scroll bar works as it seems to be what controls the height of the box the cut off items are in.
