Merge Two Paid Apps into One, Make it Free for Past Paid Users

Question

I currently sell two separate paid apps in the Store. Over time, their functionality has grown to the point where there's significant overlap and it makes some sense to develop a new app the merges together their functionality.

I'm not sure how I would proceed. It seems like I should create a brand new app so I can give it a better name, but I would like to offer it as a free "upgrade" to paid users of the other two apps.

Because there's no IAP in the current two apps, I don't have in-house records of who the past paid users are.

I'm sorry to say that currently, there is no way to let the previous users who brought your apps get your new app for free automatically. You have to record these users on your own.

My suggestion is that you might check the app license in your old apps, once you found that the user had purchased your app, then you could send them a promotion code that could get your new app for free.
