Hi,

Recently our organisation tenant name changed which caused issues with the naming of Onedrive and Sharepoint on client devices, we are wanting to change this back. Can you confirm if there will be any problems caused by changing this from org settings in the admin centre.

    Dear Brad Davis,

    Good day!!

Apologies for the inconvenience caused and please don’t worry, let’s work together on your concern and move towards a resolution path.

I understand your concern and to my knowledge, I would like to convey that when you change the Organization Name of the Office 365 tenant, there won’t be any impact on the users OneDrive for Business URL or SharePoint Online site URL or the URL of the files stored in the OneDrive for Business or SharePoint Online sites.

However, the paths of synced OneDrive for Business or SharePoint Online Document Libraries are connected with the organization of the Office 365 tenant where OneDrive for Business will C:/users/user profile folder/OneDrive – Organization Name and SharePoint Online Document Libraries will be C:/users/user profile folder/Organization Name.

So, when you change the organization of your Office 365 tenant, the path with be changed to the updated organization automatically and if the path doesn’t change, please try to reset the OneDrive sync client to check the outcome.

If there is any misunderstanding from our end, we sincerely apologize and request you to share the detailed information with some screenshots of the problem and post back to us, where will try our best to investigate the issue further.

Appreciate your patience and understanding. Have a great day!!

    Best Regards,

    Sophia
