We have a problem recognizing and notifying users about unread messages. Currently I would have to read a user's message history, which could contain thousands of messages, and analyze one by one to see how many have not been read.

Is there any way in ACS to know how many messages and in how many chats a certain user has unread messages?

There are plans to include an unread message count to the Chat SDK. However, it's in the preliminary stages of discussion. If you could with a comment down below, further elaborate on your use case / scenario(s) so that I can provide feedback to the team.

The scenario is as follows:
A user named Michael enters the chat on day 1, they send him ten (10) messages, he only reads eight (8) messages. He forgets to read two (2) messages.
Then, the same user Michael, enters the chat on day 2, he should be able to have in the history, the two (2) messages, unread.

Hello, is there any road map or progression regarding this feature? I'm hoping to avoid needing to juggle retrieving threads, messages for each thread and read receipts to show the most recent message and a count of unread messages

I need to retrieve unread chat messages for a given ACS user, and am interested in if whether there has been any progression of the planning to include an unread message count in the Chat SDK?
