As displayed in following screenshot I have created a scatter line chart with the available data in the excel where I don't have data for 3rd row and we could see there are two lines created for a single series Department, one line with first two data points and another with remaining data points. But ideal should be a single line is what we are expecting. Could you please help us with this observation, is there any work around to fix this?

please refer the series X values and Series Y values displayed.

    Hi Andreas,

If you see in the below image, in the first chart, the scatter wil line and marker got has been rendered as single line.
But in the second chart, since 24-Feb has a null value, the chart got split into and there is a disconnect in the line.

So we would like to know if there is a way in Excel to avoid this disconnect of the line. Please help.

Hi @Andreas, I am not seeing an option to attach the sample file. Could you please help me on how I can attach the file?

Read the entire web page that Andreas provided a link to.

But I empathize: it is hard to see "the forest through the trees".

    Why not simply explain....

We cannot attach files directly in this forum.

Instead, share a view-only link that allows us to download the file without having to log in.

Upload the file to a file-sharing website such as box.net/files, dropbox.com, onedrive.live.com, etc.

I deprecate the use of Google Drive because too many users misunderstand and import the Excel file into Google Sheets. That might alter formulas; and of course, we loose Excel-specific features such as application options, which might affect some problems. (Not this one.)
