This step ensures that any new user in your organization is always created as a Teams Only user.

To change the tenant mode to Teams Only run the following command from a Teams PowerShell window.

Grant-CsTeamsUpgradePolicy -PolicyName UpgradeToTeams -Global

If you don't need to use Skype for Business anymore, you could try to disable the hybrid configuration to complete migration to Teams Only. In this way, the mode will be set to Teams only by default.

Hi @JimmyYang-MSFT , Thanks for your reply. But my question is opposite to that we have bought a tenant which is already in teams only mode but now we want to make it to Islands mode because we have on prem skype server 2015 infrastructure in place so that how we can do that?

@JimmyYang-MSFT , No its in Teams only mode and we want to make it to Islands mode as we have on prem skype infra available

Hi @Vinod Survase

If Teams user and Skype on-prem user are not in the same tenant, there is no way to change the Teams-only mode to island mode now.

Thanks @JimmyYang-MSFT , for answer on this. What if we bring all users in same tenant then it would be possible right if yes do you have any docs or any article where we can refer or we need to take support from Microsoft in that case.
