As of now, Microsoft has not announced any plans to discontinue support for VBA in the near future. VBA remains a critical tool for many users, and Microsoft continues to support it.
Current Microsoft Plans for Continued Support of VBA
To Microsoft Employees:
I've automated many audit processes using Excel VBA, and related inter-application VBA, e.g., to create emails in Outlook. I recently learned the hard way again that our IT group would prefer we stopped using VBA/macros for process automation as they fear Microsoft at any time can say they will stop supporting VBA. In your estimation, when is the earliest you can see Microsoft taking such drastic steps? Based on what I read on the web, it still looks to be 5-10 years away. You agree?
Thanks.
Steve
