Issue with student verification

Hi

I have recently purchased Office 365 University from a retailer, however when I were going to activate it I got to a page to verify myself being a student. However since I merged my Dreamspark account with my Microsoft account sometime last year I have been getting this error when trying to verify.

After inserting my product key on Office.com I get sent to the verification page and it says "Congratulations, your academic status has been successfully verified" and I am then immediately sent forward to the next step where I am supposed to select my country and language for Office. However when clicking next it tries to create an account but fails and gives me the error that I have failed to verify and that I may try again or contact Microsoft support. I have tried verifying myself over and over again but nothing happens. I have also received verification codes from Microsoft support but the site claims that I am already verified when I'm not.

The verification page only shows for 1 or 2 seconds before automatically forwarding me to the next step.

The same thing happens when trying to verify myself for Dreamspark, but instead of forwarding me to the next step, nothing happens. It shows me this page where it says "Congratulations, your academic status has been successfully verified". There is a green box "Continue" and when clicking upon this is takes me to a Dreamspark page with the message "We're sorry, the resource you are looking for is unavailable at this time. Return". When clicking on Return it takes me to the main Dreamspark page without me getting verified.

Long story short: I can't verify, because the site thinks I am verified when I am not.

I hope there is someone out there who can help me.

Thanks

    Hello,

To help you better, we need few details about the issue.

    1. What exactly do you mean by “trying to verify myself for Dreamspark”?
    2. Try to log into www.Office.com/MyAccount website using the Microsoft Account which is registered with the Office 365 subscription and check the status.

If the verification is already done, then you would see the Office 365 University under the ‘MyAccount’ page through which you can proceed to installation.

If you’re unable to find the product then it would be better if you provide us the screenshot where exactly are you trying to verify ‘Dreamspark’ and explain in detail which will help us to analyze and assist you better.

In order to add the image, click on the ‘Insert image’ icon present in the ‘Reply’ window.

    Thank you.

    Hello again,

    1. What I mean with Dreamspark is that when I arrive at the page I am greeted by this prompt where it asks me to verify my student status.

After clicking on "verify" I am then taken to the verification page where I am supposed to enter my student email or any other credentials to verify myself.

When I am brought here it (as you can see) says that I am already verified. When clicking continue I am brought back to Dreamspark but to this page:

I am simply greeted with the message that the service is unavailable at this time and the "Return" link takes me directly back to Dreamspark where it gives me the verification prompt as shown in the first image.

I hope this answers your question.

I have had this issue for a very long time, I have also sent multiple messages to the Dreamspark support without any answer. :(

    1. My second issue is that I can not verify myself for Office either, after inserting my product key it takes me to a verification page very similar to the one on the image above to verify myself being a student. This time I don't have to click on anything, instead it almost instantly takes me directly back to the office setup page where I am supposed to choose my language. I click next and it attempts to activate my office product but I receive this error instead (in Swedish):

In the red box it says "Redemption failed" and beneath it

"You have not undergone/completed the verification."

"If you want to try verifying again click here. If you want to call support click here."

Calling the support did not help, they didn't understand my issue when I described it for them. I hope I'll have better luck here.

I can provide more information or screenshots if needed and as I wrote in my initial question I have the same issue on both Office and Dreamspark where I can't verify myself being a student. The issues with Dreamspark I think started sometime around the time when I merged my Dreamspark account with my Microsoft account.

    Thanks again!

    Thank you for the reply.

Try to verify the Office 365 University by using any of the methods given in the link below and check if that works.

I tried the link but I got the same issues as before, it says I am already verified. It says "Your academic status has been successfully verified." I still can't activate Office as it still claims I have not done the verification.

There is probably something old from a previous verification attempt that somehow has caused a bug in the system. In the past I've been able to verify without any issues, but since last year or so I haven't been able to verify anything and it started when merging Dreamspark with my Microsoft account.
