Hello MageshkumarMuniyappa,  Welcome to the Microsoft community.Have you always been able to use Office on your iPad for free between you?Normally, you need to have an Office product to log in to your Office account in order to use Office properly.Have you replaced your iPad? Some screen sizes allow you to edit documents without a Microsoft 365 subscription, for more information you can refer to the link below. What you can do in the Microsoft 365 apps on mobile devices with a Microsoft 365 subscription - Microsoft Support If you have not purchased any Office products, I recommend purchasing a Microsoft 365 subscription in order for you to use Office properly. Buy Microsoft 365 Family & Personal Subscriptions, and Office 2024 - Microsoft Store You may also consider using the free web version of Office through your browser. Yes, I was able to edit the Excel on my iPad two weeks ago. Today, I noticed that it is asking for a license to edit. I wonder if Microsoft has updated the licensing for iPad users.
