When start deduplication start after we enable it?

Hi,

I just enable deduplication on my I: drive of Windows 2019 file server.

Do I need to start it manually or it will take 3 days after we enable it?

    It will deduplicate files older than 3 days and it will run depend on your set sechdule.
    Take a look at:
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/storage/data-deduplication/advanced-settings#modifying-job-schedules-available-settings
    This does not mean it will run in three days but it look into files which are older than three days.

    Thanks for reaching out.
    After enabling Deduction you do not need do anything as Windows should take care of it.
