Hi,

I'm using Word (Word for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2410 Build 16.0.18129.20200) 64-bit) and seem to be encountering a bug.

Adding numbered items, with tracking changes, once I accept the new addition of an item, it then shows are green underlined

I have no way of accepting these green underlined "changes" Also the numbering it seems to think it changed from does not exist.

Rgds,

Ds

To see a paragraph number which is being deleted and inserted isn't unusual when Track Changes is enabled. (I wasn't able to reproduce it in my specific example below, though.)

The first thing I would do is display nonprinting characters (click the ¶ icon on the Home tab) and see if the paragraph mark, ¶, at the end of the paragraph is still a tracked change.

    Dear DS_446,

    Good day to you!

I hope you are doing well. Thanks for reaching out to our Microsoft Community Forum. We will be happy to help you.

Based on your description, when you accept the new addition of an item, a green underline appears. According to the information and screenshot you provided, I tested this on my side, and it seems that the 'Track Changes' option might be deactivated, which is likely why you are seeing the green underline.

In my test, when the 'Track Changes' option is enabled, it functions as expected, and no green underline appears after accepting changes. However, if the option is disabled, the behavior you described can occur. Could you please check and confirm whether the 'Track Changes' option is activated? To check the option, click on Review> Tracking > Track changes> Select the option.

Additionally, I would like to know if this issue occurs with a specific file or across multiple files.

I am looking forward to your response for further assistance.

I would like to acknowledge that my initial response may not resolve your current situation immediately. However, with your input and some additional specific details, we can work together to identify a clear solution for your current challenge.

Thank you for your understanding. Your cooperation and contributions are greatly appreciated.

    Kind Regards,

    Nahid Sultan
