The Edit Shape tool is in the Insert Shapes group at the left end of the Format Shape Ribbon:

The Edit Points command also is available by right-clicking the Shape.

If you're looking for something else click the Format Pane tool at the right end of the Shape Format tab or right-click the Shape & select the Format Shape command to launch the Format Shape Task Pane.

    Good day!

Welcome to Microsoft Community. Thank you for sharing your concern with us today and we hope that all is well. This issue can arise on PowerPoint for Mac (Office 365) for a few reasons, and there are several troubleshooting steps you can try:

    Use context menu:

On Mac, the Edit Shape (or Change Shape) command can often be found by right-clicking the shape rather than looking for it in the ribbon.

    • Right-click the shape and look for an option like Edit Shape or Change Shape.
    • If it shows up there, you can change the shape even if the command isn’t visible on the ribbon.

    Check ribbon and update PowerPoint:

Occasionally, Office updates or ribbon customizations might hide or relocate commands:

    • Update Office: Make sure you are running the latest version of Office 365 for Mac. Updates sometimes fix ribbon display issues or restore commands.
    • Customize the Ribbon:
      1. Go to PowerPoint > Preferences > Ribbon & Toolbar.
      2. Look for the Shape Format tab and see if you can add the Edit Shape command manually. Sometimes restoring default settings or reordering items can make previously hidden commands visible.

If the command is suddenly missing from an update perspective, sometimes a restart of PowerPoint—or signing out and back into your account—can help. In some rare cases, reinstalling Office might resolve odd ribbon issues.

    Hope this helps!
