Hi. I seem to have a problem with MS Access.

Question

The software seems to be corrupt in my computer and I can't make any query's in my computer, no matter the Access file or query type. If I try to make a query, it comes up with a response of "Invalid SQL Statement; expected 'DELETE','INSERT','PROCEDURE','SELECT' or 'UPDATE'. I have tried to run the same query on the same file in a different computer and it worked, so the problem must be in the software of my computer. I am studying SQL in school and it happened to three of our class students in the same class on the same time and date, which is quite strange. I have had no other problems with my computer and MS Access until now (two days ago).

Please open the query which fails in SQL View. Copy that SQL and paste it in a response here.

The screenshot you included appears to contain invalid SQL, but to be sure I want to see the actual SQL in full.

This is my MS Access version. I have no access to the computers where it worked right now so I can't tell you what version they were operating on.

I enter my SQLs like this: Create - Query Design - Data Definition and then enter the SQL sentence. I will try the Design Mode later as I haven't used it before and need to do a bit of research on it before.

Have you tried building the query using the QBE, the graphical interface.

What version of Access are you running? what version is run on the computers where it worked?

To Check the version Open Access and go to Account>About Access. This is what we need

Also, are you entering the SQL directly? If so, what happens when you build the Query in Design mode?

Thanks for your quick response. I tried your suggested variations and the outcome was the same. Also, I performed the Microsoft Office repair but no results. As I said in the original post, I could run the exact same query in a different computer in the exact copy of the file, so it would make sense that the problem lies within my computer or its software. I am not able to perform any SQL sentences/statements in MS Access on my computer because it always gives the same result: the error. Even if I make a new MS Access file, new data table and so on, it still gives me the same error notification.
