Hello Mark Foote1,
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
This often happens when using a charger that is not included with the device, because the possible reasons are:
- The charger is not compatible with the computer.
- The charger performance is not enough to support charging the computer.
- The charger is not connected to the charging port of the computer.
- The charging cable does not meet the power requirements of the charger or computer.
But if you're using a charger that came with your Surface device, I suspect the problem may be due to two things:
- The adapter is damaged.
- Battery loss is severe.
But let me add here that Surface battery drive anomalies are possible, so what I can recommend first is to visit the following link, download the driver and firmware pack for the Surface Laptop Studio model, and install it.
Download Surface Laptop Studio Drivers and Firmware from Official Microsoft Download Center
If the problem comes from a power drive, then this is usually the solution.
But if installing drivers and firmware packs doesn't solve the problem, then maybe you can try charging via USB-C:

But if you find that you're still charging slowly, it's time to contact the Surface aftermarket support team and send them your device for inspection:

I wish you all the best.
