Things which are done before touchpad issue are as follows.

  1. Updated windows updates as usual.
  2. Touchpad issue noticed just after restarting laptop, because those updates ask me to restart my laptop.

Here are some screenshots of windows update which are performed on 15 July 2025.

Issues Related touchpad are mentioned bellow.

  1. Touchpad not working properly. but external mouse works perfectly.
  2. right click button feel like it continuously in operational condition, also 2 fingers tap gesture is not working. but before that update touchpad was in excellent working condition because my laptop is only one and half year old.
  3. So, to resolve this problem I update touchpad related drivers, but problem not resolving, then uninstalled that and reinstalled from ASUS official website, also update bios update but it doesn't work for me. So, I did factory reset using cloud download to completely wipeout old windows and install new windows like new laptop, but problem still remain as it is.
  4. after this update which was done on 15 July device manager shows some events like device setting migrated.
  5. So, please help me to resolve my laptop touchpad issue. these are Event viewer images. Screenshot (15)

Hello, I’m Virginia, a fellow user like yourself.

Sorry to hear you’re experiencing problems.

Is there a Touchpad entry under Settings>Devices? Are there any of those settings there?

The newer Elan/Synaptics driver seems to break the touchpad settings so that you cannot turn the touchpad on/off or use various scroll options.

Try installing the Microsoft precision touchpad driver:

https://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/66163/how-to-install-precision-touchpad-drivers-on-windows-10/ This will add extra touchpad options under Settings>Devices>Touchpad.

Note: This is a non-Microsoft website. The page appears to be providing accurate, safe information. Watch out for ads on the site that may advertise products frequently classified as a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Products).

Please do not download any repair tool which may be offered by this site other than the ones I mention/recommend.

Thoroughly research any product which is mentioned here before you decide to download and install it.
