May I ask if you open that email in Outlook web, does that email have any attachments?
If yes, that means there is something wrong with your Classic Outlook.
If no, there is a few possibilities for this.
- The attachment might be embedded in the email body, which still triggers the paperclip icon.
- The attachment may have been removed by a mail server or filter before reaching your inbox.
Here are some common fixes:
Clear your Outlook cache:
- Press the Windows + R
- Type %localappdata%\Microsoft\Outlook
- Find the RoamCache folder and delete all files in it.
