Recall in Shared mailbox

When I send an email directly from the shared mailbox in outlook web, the mail is sent to the sent items of the shared mailbox and the recall option is greyed out, however, if I send the mail as a delegate of the shared mailbox from my personal mailbox ( with send as or send on behalf ) then the mail is sent to my sent items and the recall is available.

Is this expected ? If so, how to recall mails that are sent directly from the shared mailbox ?

Can you please test it from your end as well please ?

    Hi Mathew,

I'm Cherrelyn, and I’m here to help.

Yes, what you're seeing is expected behavior. When you send emails directly from a shared mailbox via Outlook on the web, the recall option is typically unavailable, as this feature relies on the sender’s mailbox owning the sent message. To recall an email the message must be sent from your personal mailbox using Send As or Send on behalf of. The message must appear in your personal Sent Items for the recall option to be enabled. Unfortunately, emails sent directly from the shared mailbox and saved in its own Sent Items cannot be recalled. A possible workaround is to always send mail from your own mailbox with delegated permissions if you need the recall option available.

I hope this will help and if you have any question please don't hesitate to reply to this thread.

    Warm regards,

    Cherrelyn
