i have windows 11 home 24H2 on a desktop with a UPS and i just reinstalled windows after a cpu upgrade and the battery % is not present on the taskbar. i remember it was there on my previous install. ive been searching for 4 hours on google how to enable it, in settings the toogle option is not present. i could not find the regedit key to edit this.
please help
i want to be able to toogle between balanced and performance mode quickly and see my ups % all the time

Thanks for confirming that. You can try this. Even with detection, Windows 11 sometimes still hides the battery icon on desktops. Go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar corner overflow and check if “Power” is listed if yes, toggle it on. If it’s not there, try opening Regedit, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\BatteryMeter, and create a DWORD (32-bit) value called ShowBatteryStatus and set it to 1, then restart.

none of the location you gave me exist. the is no taskbar corner over flow in settings and in reg edit HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel there is no battery meter

There is NO taskbar corner under task bar in this area

still i dont see battery icon

If the battery icon is missing on your Windows 11 desktop, it's likely because Windows doesn't detect your UPS as a battery. Check Device Manager > Batteries if nothing shows, Windows won’t display the icon. Try installing your UPS software (like APC PowerChute or CyberPower PowerPanel) to get battery info showing. The quick power mode toggle (Balanced/Performance) only appears if a battery is detected, but you can still switch using powercfg shortcuts.
