Dear @shashikant shah,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Community.
Since you no longer have access to the original Microsoft account used to register for the exam and do not remember the email or password associated with it, here are the recommended steps and guidance to help you recover your certificate or account access:
- Contact Microsoft Certification Support Directly
MTA exams and certifications are managed via the Microsoft Certification Dashboard and, historically, through Certiport or Pearson VUE, depending on the exam delivery partner.
- To initiate recovery or verification, please contact Microsoft Certification Support:
- Credentials support | Microsoft Learn
- You can submit a request through the official Microsoft certification support page.
- Explain your situation: lost account access, exam details, and personal identification info.
Include the following information in your support request:
- Your full name (exactly as on the exam/certificate)
- Approximate exam date: April 1, 2016
- Exam taken: Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) - Security Fundamentals
- Exam center/location details (as you recall)
- Any proof of exam registration or payment you may still have
- Reference to your friend's certificate who took the same exam at the same center and date, this can help Microsoft locate the exam batch or group record.
- Verify Your Identity
Microsoft Support may ask you to verify your identity to access your records securely. This can include providing:
- Exam registration details (date, exam ID if you have it, test center)
- Any correspondence or receipts connected with your exam
- Alternative Account Recovery Attempts
If you want to try recovering access to the original Microsoft account used during registration:
- Use the Microsoft account recovery form: https://account.live.com/acsr
- Provide any email addresses you remember in the recovery process.
- If you have phone numbers or alternate email linked to the account, use those options to reset your password.
However, since you do not recall the email or password, this may have limited success.
- Consider Retaking the Exam (If Recovery Not Possible)
Since the MTA certification program was retired as of June 30, 2022, retaking the exact MTA exam might no longer be possible.
However, Microsoft has transitioned to role-based certifications; you may consider upgrading to an Azure Fundamentals or Security Fundamentals certification under the new program to demonstrate your skills with current certifications.
