I am trying to reset my password on Amazon, put can't get the OPT code sent to my email. I have called Amazon 5 times and they said nothing was wrong with my account to contact my email provider. I have read every article on how to fix this and nothing has worked. Amazon said they can see it has been sent to me several times. I have checked my spam and junk folder. It is not being blocked, it's actually in my safe email. I don't have any filters on and I don't have any rules. Their only solution was for me to create a new account. I don't want to create a new account. What else could be preventing me from getting these OPT codes. Please help! Oh and there is no way to contact outlook to actually talk to a human!!!

    Hi Amy,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum. I understand how frustrating it is not to receive OTP codes from Amazon.

Here are steps to troubleshoot and resolve

    1. Check Blocked Senders and Rules
    • Go to https://outlook.live.com and sign in.
    • Click the gear icon > Mail > Junk email.
    • Under Blocked senders and domains, make sure @amazon.com is not listed. If it is, remove it.
    • Then go to Mail > Rules and ensure there are no rules that might be redirecting or deleting OTP emails.
    1. Add Amazon to Safe Senders
    • In the same Junk email settings, add @amazon.com to the Safe senders and domains list.
    • Save your changes.
    1. Try a Different Email Client or Device
    • Sometimes the issue is with the app or device. Try accessing your email via:
      • A different browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox)
      • Incognito/Private mode
      • The Outlook mobile app or desktop app
    1. Wait and Retry Later
    • If you’ve requested multiple OTPs in a short time, Microsoft may temporarily delay or block them. Wait at least 30–60 minutes before trying again.

If the issue persists, please let me know. I’ll be happy to guide you further or escalate the issue if needed.
