I really would like to be able to change my @hotmail.com email address to @outlook.com without having to change my whole email address. Is this possible and if so please illustrate the steps of how to do so.

    Hi

Ah, that makes sense. If the @outlook.com version you want is already taken, Microsoft won’t let you use it, even as an alias. You can try small changes like adding a number, dot, or middle initial. Once you find one that works, you can set it as your main email. Your old Hotmail will still work. Want help thinking of a good variation?

    Best regards,

    Hey there!

Nice to meet you! I'm Randy, an Independent Advisor.

Hi Jessica, you can't exactly turn your @hotmail.com into @outlook.com with the same name, but you can add a new @outlook.com address to your current account. Just go to account.microsoft.com, sign in, click "Your info," then "Manage how you sign in to Microsoft." From there, add a new Outlook email as an alias. Once added, you can make it your main email to sign in and send messages. Your Hotmail will still work too, so you won’t lose anything.

    Best regards,
