I really would like to be able to change my @hotmail.com email address to @outlook.com without having to change my whole email address. Is this possible and if so please illustrate the steps of how to do so.

    Hi,

If the @outlook.com version of your email is taken, you’ll need to choose a slight variation by adding a number, dot, or extra word. Once you add it as an alias, you can set it as your main email. Your Hotmail will still work too.

    Regards,

    Hi

Ah, that makes sense. If the @outlook.com version you want is already taken, Microsoft won’t let you use it, even as an alias. You can try small changes like adding a number, dot, or middle initial. Once you find one that works, you can set it as your main email. Your old Hotmail will still work. Want help thinking of a good variation?

    Best regards,
