Need a way to control per individual volume output in Teams meeting

We need a way to adjust the volume output per individual in a meeting. In a big meeting I can't interrupt the meeting to ask individuals to adjust their mic. I need a slider so that Anne's volume is at a 6 and Bob's volume is at a 2. I'm not talking about having control of their mic settings or controlling how other people in the meeting hear them. This should be similar to how, in Windows, I can change the volume per app, not just adjust the master volume.

Apparently, this is something Discord has had for at least 4 years (as mentioned in the linked thread) and has been requested of MS that long ago too.

I found this issue from over 4 years ago with this exact problem that was marked as having a solution. It was never solved.

How is it possible that this feature is not yet implemented yet.
Xbox chat/discord/old teamspeak we had several options to improve our mics/adjust where needed.

Paid licenses for O365 should have this option at the very start, or at least now.
We are looking into to make our teams meeting in discord just because of some settings that are available.
So please, just fix or make this feature, i cannot imagine that it is that hard if it already exist for years in other software.

    Thanks!

    Hi @Dean MacGregor,

Good day! Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum and sharing the detail.

According to your concerns, I completely understand how valuable individual volume control would be in larger meetings, and I agree that this feature could greatly enhance the user experience in Microsoft Teams, especially when varying microphone levels can be distracting or disruptive.

At this time, Microsoft Teams doesn’t support per-participant volume adjustment on the client side. Each participant manages their own mic volume, and while the “Automatically adjust mic sensitivity” setting helps normalize levels, it doesn’t allow you to fine-tune others’ volumes locally.

I understand the importance of this feature and agree it would be a meaningful improvement, especially in large meetings. Although it’s been raised before, your feedback is still incredibly valuable. Microsoft prioritizes features based on user input, so I strongly recommend submitting or upvoting the idea on the Teams Feedback Portal: Microsoft Teams · Community User's image

The more feedback and votes a request receive, the higher the visibility it gains with the Teams product team and your voice can help influence that.

Thank you again for sharing this, I truly appreciate your voice in helping shape the future of Teams. If there’s anything else I can help clarify or support you with, please don’t hesitate to ask.
