Hello @Charles Sandra Mathews ,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A
Thank you for reaching out Q&A forum regarding the recent changes in Excel's appearance.
I understand that unexpected updates to the interface, such as modifications to the ribbon, tabs, or theme, can be disorienting, especially when you're accustomed to a particular layout.
These changes are typically part of Microsoft's ongoing efforts to enhance usability and align Office applications with modern design standards, particularly those introduced with Windows 11.
To better assist you, it would be helpful if you could share a screenshot of your current Excel interface. This will allow us to better understand the changes you're experiencing and offer more specific guidance.
If you're using Excel 365, you can customize the look and feel of ribbon to better suit your preferences:
- Open Excel and go to File → Options (or right‑click anywhere on the Ribbon and choose Customize the Ribbon).
- In the Excel Options window, select Customize Ribbon from the left panel.
- On the right, you’ll see Ribbon tabs (Home, Insert, etc.) and groups under each tab.
- To add a favorite command:
- In the left panel, change the drop‑down to All Commands or Commands Not in the Ribbon.
- Select the command you want, click the tab (or create a New Tab), then click Add >>.
- Reorder tabs or commands using the Up/Down arrows on the right.
- Press OK to save your changes will take effect immediately.
I hope this help, feel free to reply back to this post if you need further assistance.
