A few days ago, I received a notification from the Microsoft PC Manager app about a new feature: live translation of any screen on the computer. It was a type of translation overlay that covered the original text, making it extremely helpful when translating any software interface.
However, just as suddenly as this feature appeared, it also disappeared.
The shortcut to activate the screen translation was CTRL + SHIFT + A, but by the second day, it had already stopped working.
What happened to this fantastic feature that was removed so quickly after being introduced?

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!
Thanks for your question and the enthusiasm with the Live Translation overlay feature in Microsoft PC Manager. What you experienced was likely part of a preview or experimental rollout, which are often temporary and can be removed without official announcement. Microsoft may have been testing it with a limited audience and pulled it back for further refinement or due to issues.
In addition, there's a chance that the feature may also depend on specific Windows 11 builds (24H2 or later) and Copilot+ PC capabilities. If your system doesn’t meet these requirements or lacks certain language packages from the Microsoft Store, the feature may not function properly.
If you'd like to regain access to the feature, here are something you can try:

Hi Marcos , this is Kimberly. I'm glad to assist you today.
What to do if you want the live screen translation back:
Join an Insider/Preview Program
For Microsoft PC Manager:
Open the app → Click Settings (⚙) → Look for Join Preview or Beta Program option.
For Windows Insider:
Win + I → Windows Update → Windows Insider Program → Link your Microsoft account → Select Dev or Beta channel.
Update Everything
Make sure PC Manager is on the latest build (check in its settings).
Install Windows Updates, including optional preview updates.
Check for Feature Availability
After updating, try the old shortcut Ctrl + Shift + A.
Look in PC Manager’s settings for Screen Translation or similar.
Monitor Announcements
Watch the Windows Insider Blog, PC Manager update notes, or PowerToys GitHub for mentions of “Live Translation” or “Screen Translate.”
Features in testing can be switched on/off server-side without a full update.
Should you have more questions, please let me know.
Best regards,
Kimberly
