I have created a created a PowerPoint with video. I am not finding a way to export it as a MP4. I have attached a screen shot of the option I have when choosing Export under the File menu.

I have saved it locally as well in One Drive. I can access it in my online suite but do not see an option to download it as a MP4 either.

HELP

Thanks,

R

Hello Rayna. Thanks for getting back. You are running into an issue impacting some Microsoft PowerPoint users when exporting files to MP4 format. Even with a dependable internet connection, PowerPoint will sometimes generate the “cannot connect to server”, or simply won’t show the Create a Video option. These issues are usually caused by media compatibility issues, background applications running, add-in issues, or if you have an outdated Office. Microsoft has the following recommendations in order to possibly troubleshoot this issue:

Optimize Media Compatibility: Find this setting by going to File > Info > Optimize Compatibility to check that all embedded media is supported.

Close Background Applications: Terminate any applications that you may not need from the Task Manager in order to allow PowerPoint the best chance of exporting the presentation properly.

Disable Add-ins: Go to File > Options > Add-ins, then disable all Add-ins and restart PowerPoint.

Update or Repair Office: If you are unsure if you have the most updated version of Office, you can check for updates by going to File > Account > Update Options. Try to also repair Office under Apps & Features on Windows.

Let me know if have questions or this helps.

    Best regards,

Hello Rayna. To save a PowerPoint presentation as an MP4 video, you will need to use the desktop version of Microsoft PowerPoint; video export is not supported in the web version. In the desktop app, open your presentation, and go to File > Export > Create a Video. You should now be able to select the video quality you desire (e.g., Full HD 1080p), and whether to use recorded timings and narrations or not. After you click Create Video, select a location to save the file as an MP4. If you are using PowerPoint Online, and see no MP4 export, download it to your computer and open it in the desktop version to export it.

    Best regards,
