    Hello,

I understand that you’ve already tried several troubleshooting steps without success. Please note that the instructions we provided were only for installing the program, not for activation.

Moving forward, I believe there might be an issue with your operating system itself, which is causing the installation problems. In this case, we can try a repair upgrade, which will fix existing system files while keeping your files, apps, and settings intact. To do a repair upgrade, go to

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 and download the Media Creation Tool (MCT).

    Run the tool.

Select Create installation media for another PC.

    Select language and edition.

Then, select the ISO file and save it to your local drive.

Once downloaded, mount the ISO file and run the setup directly from the explorer.

Windows installation will begin. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Once the repair upgrade is complete, try installing the Office apps again. Here's how to install Office apps on your device -

Download, install, or reinstall Microsoft 365 or Office 2024 on a PC

Let me know how it goes.

Please note that you are communicating with your peers in the forums, not with Microsoft support.

Nobody here has access to your account information so nobody can provide specific assistance with your installation. In that sense, any suggestion made here will be "generic."

If uninstall fails, what you can try is a manual uninstallation. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/manually-uninstall-office-4e2904ea-25c8-4544-99ee-17696bb3027b .

Before you go to that time-consuming step, did you work through all the suggestions made by Gunasekar? In particular, turning off antivirus software may help, if you are using third-party antivirus.

    Dear Microsoft Support,

I am extremely frustrated at this point. Despite multiple attempts, I have been unable to install Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) through the Office Deployment Tool and configuration.xml. Every single time the installation fails with random error messages such as “Installation failed” without any clear explanation.

    I have:

Stable internet connection and enough storage.

Already tried enabling Windows Update services and MSI installer (as Office requires them).

Followed multiple troubleshooting steps suggested online.

Yet, the issue persists endlessly. I am genuinely fed up with how unnecessarily complicated this installation process has become. All I need is a working setup of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint — nothing more.

I kindly request a real, final, and working solution to this issue. Please do not provide generic steps that I have already attempted. I expect proper guidance that will actually resolve this problem once and for all.

    Sincerely,

    A frustrated user

An older thread which discusses this error message suggests that antivirus software could be responsible. Which antivirus program are you running?

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

I understand that you're having trouble installing the Office applications on your computer.

Use the Microsoft uninstall troubleshooter to remove all the traces of your Office applications.

    https://aka.ms/SaRA-officeUninstallFromPC

Once uninstalled, turn off your Antivirus if enabled, and then try installing the Office applications.

If you're still having issues, try connecting your device to a different Wi-Fi network, such as a Mobile hotspot network, and see if you can install Office applications.

If that still didn't work, click Windows + R key, type in inetcpl.cpl, and click Ok.

Select Connections > LAN settings > turn off Proxy server - Use a proxy server for your LAN if it is enabled.

    Re-install Windows Installer Service -

Click Windows + R key, type services.msc, and click ok

Select the Windows installer and restart the service.

Set up the startup type to 'Automatic'.

    Run the Office installer again.

Let me know how it goes.

Let me know if you still need more help.
