Hi ,
The background is in Windows spotlight, if you have it, you would have to change it to a photo and you will stop receiving notifications in the lock screen settings.

Windows 10 is showing me a bunch of stuff I do not want on my lock screen. The widgets are Weather, Daily wonder, Quiz and events near me. I really do not want these there as I like my screens clear of clutter and I've spent so long trying to get rid of all the other news sources forced on me. I have disabled everything in Personalization - Lock screen. The Get fun facts,Tips and more is disabled. all the Detailed and Quick status is set to none but they still show. How do I get rid of these widgets

A 0 Reputation points2025-09-12T08:32:16.1033333+00:00 Have the same issue. The widgets appear no matter what is selected for the lock screen, spotlight, slide show and picture all show these over the top. I've only had this since the update last night. I'm thinking to just uninstall the update

I had to switch from my Picture set for my lock screen to the 'Windows Spotlight' - from there I saw a widget/app set to appear, set it to 'none' and then switched back to 'Picture' from the dropdown. This resolved it!

I have tried all the "fixes" mentioned in this and other places. NO-GO.
Anyone know of a rogue registry key where I can turn this ridiculous crap OFF?
** UPDATE ** I just tried Adams Woods fix, and THAT worked for me as well. FIXED !!
Again, Why does MS feel the need to push this crap on us!! Helpful? NOT !!

i wish they would quit forcing updates on us. updates should be users choice.
