Serious issues regarding KB5063878 and the need for official quick resolution

The KB5063878 update is a disaster.It's causing hard drives to fail after large file operations. No one can wait for your long and meaningless investigation right now. The most important thing is to get the massive number of users out of this dangerous state.

Stop investigating and focus on releasing a new update immediately. Even using a previous version to temporarily roll back is an acceptable solution. Fixing this problem is what you should do AFTER we are out of risk.

I can not even uninstall this update . I log into my admin account and click uninstall and it fails. why is microsoft now locking it ? its wierd i cant uninstall a update that is bricking computers....

Pause updates. Reboot then go back and uninstall it. Should do the trick. However, even if I disable the service, stop it set recovery tab options to take no action. After reboot windows update service still goes back and sets it to manual(trigger start). Not cool. Enter windows update setting in search bar and pause the updates there. Does the trick.

I lost a hard disk at my work a week ago, I was using 2 instances of Unity, the SSD crashed my computer twice, then it disappeared from my list of SSDs, it came back once more after a reboot but it crashed again and then I had to get it replaced, same started happening at home while playing a game and using other tools in the BG, crashed my computer twice the second time my ssd disappeared , as soon as I rebootedmy computer I removed the Update and now I dont not have the issue anymore.

A fix is now available as KB5064081.

I had some issues with the control-panels display-settings and the sign-in-page.

After the installation of KB5064081, the problems created by KB5063878

were resolved !

Thanks for your suggestion. However, the update is permanently integrated into my build and can't be uninstalled. Also, performing a system rollback isn't a viable option due to some complications. That's why my only path forward is to push for a new fixed update.

(Settings >> Windows Update >> Update History >> Uninstall Update)
Like Below:
OR from
(Settings >> System >> Recovery >> Advanced Startup: Restart Now)

You may find option to roll-back.

To successfully uninstall the update KB5063878 must uninstall first Windows SandBox, while SandBox is in the system KB5063878 update won't uninstall. It will fail with the message: "Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB5063878) - uninstall failed (error 0x800F0825)"

I've lost a laptop and a desktop to this update, had to replace a mother board in the desktop to get up back up

Tried pausing the updates, tried to uninstall the update via Windows, but it crash on reboot, and restores the KB5063878 installation.
Tried to update BIOS to latest version, and repeated the steps from above, but no dice....

Tried to reinstall windows on my Samsung NVMe 990 PRO 2 GB, which should have native NVMe support by windows 11, but it crashes during reinstall, even if i tell it to wipe my drive.

Do not know what my next step is. Maybe the KB5063878 actually destroyed the SSD?

I keep uninstalling it repeatedly. Now it wont let me uninstall it for some reason. I disable the windows update service. Somehow the service is forcing itself to start and updates yet again. How does that work? Startup type: Disabled. Recovery: All set to take no action. Still finds a way to update and sets itself to manual triggered when ive taken 0 action to update. It's really ticking me off. 5th time or so to uninstall the update now uninstalls are failing. Nvm, issue was it was in process another install. Paused updatres then I just uninstalled again. Lonnng day.

Note:
If you can't uninstall the update: Try (Remove First Windows Sandbox).
{Windows Features > Uninstall Sandbox) > Then, Uninstall the update.

If you can boot to the system, Just FULL HARD RESET. Turn off Your Power Supply or Power off the laptop completely. then turn it back on (Boot Drive) will show again.
