Click your Start Button, type regedit and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor.

Click View and make sure 'Address Bar' is turned on.

Paste this into the Address Bar at the top and hit Enter.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\FipsAlgorithmPolicy

IN the right hand pane, double click the Enabled entry, then set its Data Value to 0 and click OK, then restart (not shut down) your PC to apply the change.

    Hello @Kamlesh Nyandeke

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A and informed us about the issue. Based on your description, I believed that you wished to disable FIPS mode, here's how:

    • Open Run dialogue (Windows + R) > input regedit > Enter
    • Go to HKEY_LOCALMACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Control > Lsa > FipsAlgorithmPolicy
    • On the right pane > choose Enabled > double click > set value to 0
    • OK > exit Registry Editor
    • Restart your PC to apply changes
