When I hit "reply" or "reply all" to a message and start typing, outlook opens a second blank email and minimizes my reply message. I then find myself typing in the "TO" field of this new blank email. Super frustrating. Please tell me how to make it stop.
P.S. if anyone can tell me how to completely eliminate the new outlook I would greatly appreciate it. It is absolutely complete trash that should never have been pushed out. If you are a Microsoft developer, please, please beg your superiors to end this awful experiment. Why you take a good product and ruin it is completely beyond me. There are so many, many problems with it, it's not funny. Sorry rant over.

Could you provide a screenshot to better understand the situation?
To rule out a browser issue, I suggest trying a different browser to access the Outlook web and see if the issue persists.
I am not sure how to provide a screen shot of this one. I am using the web version with the preview pane. when I hit reply, my reply email opens, then I start typing, but as soon as I do, my reply email gets minimized to the bottom of the preview pane and replaced by a new blank email which my typing then starts to show up in.
I have tried this in Chrome and Edge and it happens in both browsers.

When you click Reply to an email, an input box will typically appear below the current window.
I recommend opening Settings > Apps, finding and resetting Outlook in the app list, then opening Outlook and logging into your email again. See if replying to emails works correctly.

That suggestion was for New Outlook for Windows, not Outlook Web.

You will probably not get any help for your issue by adding to an old post. I would suggest that you start a new thread using the "Ask a question" button at the top of this page to create a new Question and include the details for your specific problem. This provides much higher visibility to your issue than adding on to an old post, which is only seen by people who are already following this question.
