SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 Wireless popping/cracking sound when connected via 2.4ghz

I've been experiencing an annoying and frequent popping/cracking sound whenever a bassy sound plays through my Acrtis Nova 5's with 2.4ghz connection. It's especially noticeable while listening to music. This doesn't happen with a Bluetooth connection to my phone or laptop, and my old pair of headphones never had this issue with 2.4ghz.

I've tried updating any SteelSeries drivers I could find in device manager, uninstalling them and reinstalling them, but no luck. Connecting the 2.4ghz dongle to a different USB port didn't work either. I've seen similar issues posted here but I don't seem to be encountering any other issues apart from my headset itself, unlike the other posts.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks for the update. Here are some things you can try.

    • Disable USB selective suspend Search and open Control Panel Then open "power options" click Change plan settings from there click on "Change advanced power settings" Then under "selected plan" Click "change plan settings" And click "Change advanced power settings" Expand "USB settings" then Disable "USB selective suspend settings" for both battery and Plugged in.
    • Download the latest chipset drivers from the motherboard support website. Install the driver and restart the computer.

Thanks for the update. It seems this is more related to power delivery or interference since the rear ports reduced the issues. Please wait for the manufacturer's support response, since this seems to be a known issue with this specific model.

Hi, my name is Jan. I'm sorry you're having this problem. The problem seems to be caused by the wireless 2.4ghz connection, most likely due to interference or the headset's audio processing. Here are some things you can try.

    • Install the latest firmware updates from the headset manufacturer's support website.
    • Try removing other external USB devices connected to the computer. In some cases, interference is causing the issues.
    • If you are using a USB hub. Try plugging in the dongle directly to the computer.
    • Try changing audio format settings. Go to Control panel>hardware and sound>Sound Under the Playback tab Select the Headset properties Open the Advanced tab Then try selecting another format, sample rate.
    • If none of these resolve the issue, and this only happens on this device. I would suggest contacting the Headset manufacturer's support.
