Hello, I came across an unknown email address in Outlook contacts. There was no email exchange with this email address. I deleted and reinstalled the Outlook application 2-3 times, but it is still in my contacts. This is the email address I mentioned. 1b8d0zn45f4e63bd7h5c @ outlook com

Is the format of the email address "outlook_[long series of letters and numbers]@outlook.com"? i.e. Does it have the "outlook_" prefix? If so, see

I have exactly the same email address: 1b8d0zn45f4e63bd7h5c @ outlook com (without the "outlook_" prefix). The email address is not in Outlook Web, nor in Outlook on my laptop. It appears only on my Android phone.

I have the exact same email on my Outlook app and Outlook Web. ******@outlook.com

A hacker has taken over control of all of my emails, online accounts and devices since May. It has been a struggle to regain access, as these individual refuses to leave my information alone.

Please let me know if this is something I should be concerned with. Most of my emails have alias' created and I almost never receive an email anymore.

You might be better served by starting a new thread using the "Ask a question" button. This provides much higher visibility to your issue than commenting on an old post, which is only seen by people who are already following this question.

In short the long outlook address are generated by Microsoft when you use a non-Microsoft account as your primary email for a Microsoft or Outlook account.

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

Reinstalling the app alone won’t always remove them. To help narrow this down, could you check:

If the contact also appears in Outlook Web https://outlook.live.com this will show if it’s stored in your account rather than just the app.
If your Outlook is linked with other email accounts (like Gmail or Exchange) that might have imported this contact.
If you see it under “Suggested Contacts” or “Other Contacts” instead of your main contact list.

If the contact also appears online in Outlook Web, try deleting it from there and see if it stays gone after syncing.
