How can I permanently disable Passkey prompts?

Hello,

A lot of websites lately when I try to login give me this popup that interrupts and delays my normal login:

{8400BE9A-74BB-44C2-B565-99A1D9BDD49E}

This makes it seem like I have no choice but to set this up, when I do, I could just simply exit out (sometimes a few times in a row) and continue using my more reliable, simplistic and secure login method.
How can I permanently disable these prompts? And why does Microsoft make it seem like I have no choice but to set this up, and refuse to tell me how they even work? Was this thought out at all?

I've already logged out of my online Microsoft Account and turned it into a Local Account while trying to troubleshoot this obnoxious problem but I am still getting these unwanted prompts on a constant basis.

I did find these settings in Edge: {EBE56827-2CE0-4B52-9948-9E957CA76C9A}

But for some reason the passkey has been tied to autofilling passwords. I do want passwords to autofill, but I do not want passkeys to interrupt my logins.

I looked in the edge://flags section, but there didn't seem to be anything that had to do with passkeys there.

    Dear Microsoft,

    Why you are making things difficult for people? Why you make people searching for solutions and you are making troubles? We were happy with the way it was, not with your update we are all searching a way to remove this passkey we never need. Why??? At least let us have an option to say "No, thanks". I'm very unhappy with Microsoft. It's really shame treating your customers like this.

    Soooooooo has anyone figured out the solution. None of the suggestions so far resolve this. It's not specific to Edge. Require Sign-In is already set to "Never" and this isn't just about when you're away from the PC. Windows Hello (in any fashion) is not on and nor do I want it on to resolve this. I simple want to stick with my password and STOP THE DAMN PASSKEY PROMPTS!

    Hi! My name is Aj and Im an Independent Advisor here to help! I totally get how frustrating that must feel. Kindly try to turn off "Only allow Windows Hello sign-in" by going to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options then look for the toggle labelled "Only allow Windows Hello sign-in" and turn it off.

    Also remove any stored passkeys on your device. Go to Settings > Accounts > Passkeys. If you see any saved passkeys, remove them. Be aware that some passkeys tied to your Microsoft Account or Windows sign-in might not be deletable.
