Hello! I am struggling to remove my old email/account and keep only my personal account. Teams keeps bringing up details of my old account and will not let me sign in using my personal account. Thanks for your help.

    How to remove not longer wanted or existing Teams Accounts without logon

    If nothing of the following actions helps:

    Windows Settings -> Accounts -> not visible in Email... or Work ...

    Control Panel -> not visible in Credential Manager

    Settings App -> Apps -> Teams -> More Options -> Clear Cache and Reset App

    End Teams Processes!

    Start Explorer -> Press CTRL+L -> Paste (CTRL-V) %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\OneAuth\accounts

    Open any Files in Notepad or desired Editor

    Delete the Files containing unwanted Accounts

    DONE

    Start Teams and enjoy

    Hi there, this is Marc. Thanks for reaching out to the community.

    Teams is likely remembering your old account because it’s still cached on your device. To fix this, first sign out of Teams completely, then clear the account cache by going to Settings > Accounts > Access work or school, select your old account, and click Disconnect. You may also need to remove saved credentials in Windows Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts. After restarting your computer, open Teams again and sign in with only your personal Microsoft account.

    If Teams still defaults to the old account, uninstall and reinstall the Teams app to reset the sign-in options. You can also sign in via the web at https://teams.microsoft.com with your personal account to confirm it works properly.

    Best regards,
