Hi there,

Where is the value of the printing preferences in registry?

Can I see that the following option is set as the "Print on both side" in registry?

Thanks

Tugrul.

    Hello Tugrul,

Thank you for your question. Printer preferences, including duplex (two-sided) printing settings, are typically stored in the Windows Registry under the following path:

    Code

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers\<PrinterName>

However, duplex settings are often part of the printer’s DEVMODE structure, which is a binary configuration managed by the printer driver. This means the "Print on both sides" option may not appear as a readable registry value and is not easily modified or viewed directly through Registry Editor.

For consistent duplex defaults, we recommend configuring the setting via Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Printer Preferences, which ensures the driver applies it across all applications. If you're managing printers in an enterprise environment, Group Policy or print server configurations may offer more control.

I hope this helps. Just kindly tick Accept Answer that others in the community facing similar issues can easily find the solution. Your contribution is highly appreciated.

    Best regards,
