ds and Third-Party Shaders/Resource Packs

Hello Microsoft Support,

I am playing Minecraft Bedrock on PlayStation 5 and also on Windows 11. I have a long-term survival world (over 1,000 in-game days, no cheats, no modifications), and I want to make sure it always stays trusted so that achievements remain enabled.

I would like to use some third-party shaders and resource packs (for example, ones from CurseForge, Modrinth, or Planet Minecraft) when playing on PC. Before I install anything, I want to confirm:

Do shaders and resource packs that are added through the normal Minecraft Bedrock resource pack system (e.g., .mcpack or .mcaddon files) affect the world’s “trusted” status or achievements?

Is there an official list of safe, verified, or Microsoft-approved third-party resource packs and shaders that will not cause a world to become untrusted?

If my world ever becomes incorrectly flagged as untrusted, is there a way for Microsoft to verify that the world has never been edited with cheats or external tools and restore its trusted status?

Thank you for your help in protecting the integrity of my world. I want to continue playing safely and fairly while enjoying shaders and textures.

Sincerely, [Your Name / Gamertag]

    Dear hdgtf

Thanks for reaching out! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A. I'm Haien from Microsoft Q&A.

I’m happy to help clarify your questions about using third-party shaders and resource packs in Minecraft Bedrock on Windows 11 while keeping your survival world’s trusted status and achievements intact. Based on your questions, here is some information about how third-party shaders and resource packs interact with Minecraft Bedrock's achievement system.

"Do shaders and resource packs affect the trusted status or achievements of a world?" The short answer is: No, not typically. As long as the .mcpack or .mcaddon you are installing is purely a visual or audio change (a "resource pack"), your achievements should remain enabled.

"Is there an official list of safe, verified, or Microsoft-approved third-party resource packs and shaders?" Unfortunately, Microsoft does not maintain a list of every third-party creator or website. However, the safest and most reliable place to find approved content is the Minecraft DLC Marketplace: Buy Skins, Add-ons, and More | Minecraft.

"What if my world is incorrectly flagged as untrusted?" Unfortunately, there is no official, automatic process for Microsoft to verify an untrusted world and restore its achievement status. Once a world is flagged as untrusted (due to cheats being enabled, a behavior pack being activated, or a third-party tool being used to edit the world), the change is permanent.

This is why it's always a good practice to:

    • Create a backup of your world before installing any new content, especially from third-party sources. You can do this by exporting your world from the game.
    • Be absolutely certain that the file you are installing is a resource pack and not a behavior pack. The description of the addon on the website you download it from should specify this.

For better support regarding your Minecraft Bedrock, I highly recommend you contact Home | Minecraft Help directly for faster and more efficient regarding your particular case.

Please keep me updated with anything new that you were try to each option.
