Recover Global Admin Microsoft account with lost MFA Access lockout

Hello, I am unable to get logged back into one of my tenants as a global administrator because my Microsoft Authenticator app was reset and I found out my tenant only had this form of verification configured on the global admin account. I do not have any other global administrator accounts so I am currently experiencing a total lockout.

Since I cannot get into this tenant, can someone with Microsoft in this forum assist me with opening a case to the Data Protection Team? @Anonymous perhaps?

By the way, the number I've seen published here for the Data Protection Team at 1-866-807-5850 is not working when I attempt to call it.

Hello Derek B,

The issue pertains to a tenant lockout, where no other global admin in the tenant has the necessary permissions to re-register MFA.

To resolve this, we have engaged our Data Protection team through a support ticket. They will reach out to you via email or phone to help restore access to the tenant and assist in resolving the issue.

Once the issue has been resolved by our support team, please feel free to revisit and kindly click "Accept Answer," as this will be helpful to other community members facing similar issues.
