A box appears in MS Excel Home and Student 2019 edition that says "Your Organization's administrator turned off the service required to use this feature" when I search for Developer in"Tell me what you want to do" I own this software and my computer. Neither the software nor the computer are part of an organization. There is no "organization administrator.

Hi Natalie, I understand this is confusing. Are you signed in with a personal Microsoft account or a work account in Excel?

Excel Home and Student 2019 is a one-time purchase and some connected features only work with Microsoft 365 or organizational accounts. That is why you see the message about an administrator even if your PC is personal. To enable Developer in your version, go to File > Options > Customize Ribbon, then check Developer. This works without any organization account.

    Regards, Arlene D.
