    Dear @ANSHU PAL

Good day! Welcome to Q&A forum!

To understand the situation better and provide you with the most suitable support, could you confirm the following information:

    • Are you using a personal account (e.g. @outlook.com, @hotmail.com) or a work/school account (e.g. @company.com, @edu)?
    • Is this happening in all Excel files or just specific ones?
    • Are you using a physical mouse or a touchpad?
    • What version of Excel are you using (e.g., Microsoft 365, Excel 2021)?
    • Have you tried using a different mouse or input device and check its behavior?

Your confirmation would be very helpful!

In the meantime, kindly try the following suggestions to check what might have caused the issue:

    • Please check if any of the following are present in your Excel file, as they can cause the cursor to jump to another cell, disappear, or behave unexpectedly:
      • Hyperlinks: Right-click the cell and choose Remove Hyperlink if it redirects unexpectedly
      • Formulas: Look in the Formula Bar to see if the cell is copying another (e.g., =A1)
      • Freeze Panes: Go to View > Freeze Panes and click Unfreeze Panes to unlock hidden sections
      • Scroll Lock: Make sure Scroll Lock is turned off (check your keyboard or use the On-Screen Keyboard).
      • Merged Cells: Select the cell and go to Home > Merge & Center to Unmerge if needed
    • Restart Excel and the computer
    • Try a different mouse or USB port to see if the mouse still misbehaves
    • Open Excel in Safe mode:
      • Press Ctrl + click on Excel icon or run excel /safe from Run dialog
      • If prompted, please click Yes to run Excel in Safe mode
      • Check if the issue persists in Safe Mode
    • Repair Office installation
      • Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Microsoft Office > Change, then select Quick Repair or Online Repair (if the problem insists)
      • User's image

Kindly let me know when there are updates or if you need further assistance. Any updates you’re able to share would be really helpful. I appreciate your time and look forward to hearing how things are going!

    Dear @ANSHU PAL

    Good day!

It would be greatly appreciated if you could complete the scoping questions, as this will allow me to deliver the most relevant and valuable outcome for you.

Besides the suggestions that I gave, could you try to reinstall Office and check if the behavior of your mouse cursor persists in Excel and kindly let me know as I'm investigating this further.

I would be grateful for your response! Looking forward to seeing how things are going when you have a chance.
