I logged into Facebook and a screen came up stating i should call the number posted on the pop up.

I google Microsoft to get a number to call. It gave me Geek of States which I call . Is that company affiliated with Microsoft to repair my system from being hacked?

    Hi,

    <removed>

    Regarding the Facebook popup message — such popups are typically scams designed to trick users into calling fake support numbers. We recommend that you do not call any numbers displayed on such popups, and instead restart your device and clear your browser cache to remove any potentially harmful scripts.

    Hi, I am an Independent Advisor, and welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

    Geek of States is not an affiliate of Microsoft. There is no evidence shows they are officially recognized by companies like Microsoft.

    And the screen that first popped up on your screen was a Tech support scam.

    If a Tech Support Scam screen pops up again, just try to close the window by hitting CTRL ALT DEL and go to the Process Tab and End all the running browsers. And then run the Microsoft Defender scan.
