After upgrading to Windows 11, our app no longer comes to the foreground on screen/tab change due to stricter focus rules, impacting usability when other apps are in the foreground.

After upgrading to Windows 11, the application no longer automatically comes to the foreground when a screen or tab change occurs while the application is running in the background. In Windows 10, the application would automatically shift to the foreground during such events, ensuring better visibility and user experience.

This change is due to Windows 11’s stricter focus management policies, which are designed to prevent background applications from stealing focus and interrupting the user. As a result, even when the application updates its content or navigates between screens, it remains in the background unless manually brought to the front by the user (e.g., via clicking or using Alt + Tab).

This behavior is negatively impacting usability, especially in scenarios where real-time visibility of the application is critical. We are looking for guidance or recommended approaches to restore the previous behavior or achieve similar functionality without violating Windows 11’s design principles.
