As a power user constantly scheduling, rescheduling appointments between internal teams and clients in addition to preparing for upcoming meetings while in the process of managing emails, my opinion is that this was a huge miss on the part of Outlook's design team making it harder to use the new version. Please provide consideration to making this pinned calendar feature available again. It is a tool and not a fancy new app design, so it doesn't get us very far if it looks "cleaner and more modern" if it doesn't have the functionality that we rely on daily. I speak for a host of other users. Again, thank you for your consideration.

    Hi @JoAnne Bastian,

Good day to you! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

Thank you for your question. To answer your question, the New Outlook experience no longer uses the old To-Do Bar for pinning your calendar. Instead, it introduces the My Day pane – a sidebar that shows your calendar agenda (and tasks) alongside your mail view. By using My Day, you can keep your upcoming appointments visible on the right side of the Outlook window (your “homepage”) without switching to the full Calendar view. Below is the guide on how to use My Day in New Outlook, and how you can make it your default view when Outlook starts.

    • Open the New Outlook app. Ensure you’re in the new Outlook experience
    • Find the My Day icon in the top-right corner of the Outlook window. It looks like a calendar icon with a checkmark on it, located near the Search bar or notification bell.
    • Click the My Day icon. This opens a side pane on the right side of the Outlook window showing your schedule. By default, you should see a list of upcoming calendar events (agenda view for today and upcoming days) in this pane. The pane is essentially your “pinned” calendar.

    • Browse your calendar events in the pane. You’ll now see upcoming appointments and meetings right next to your inbox. You can click an event to see details or join an online meeting without leaving the Mail view. The My Day pane can be viewed in an Agenda list or a Day view; use the “Switch views” option to toggle the layout or to select which calendars to display.
    • Close or toggle as needed. The Calendar pane will stay open until you close it. You can collapse it by clicking the My Day icon again or hitting an “X” on the pane. If you navigate to other module within Outlook, the My Day pane can still be opened there too – it’s available “anywhere in new Outlook”.

Please understand that: In the new Outlook, the My Day pane does not stay pinned permanently once you close Outlook – you’ll need to click the My Day button each time you restart Outlook to reopen the calendar pane. This is by design for now. (Outlook will remember if you left it open during the session, but there isn’t a setting to always show it on launch.)

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this. Hope you are having a great day.

I'm looking forward for your reply.
